Built With Sacrifice
A family business with a story worth remembering.
Southern Electronics was founded in New Orleans in 1932 by a
German immigrant from Rupertsberg, Germany, and the local woman
he married.
The company originally operated as Southern Radio Supply,
buying and selling radio tubes during the early days of the
electronics industry.
To help afford the rent for their first building, our
great-grandmother sold her wedding dress.
That sacrifice helped begin a company that remains privately
owned, woman owned, and operated by the fourth generation of
the Perrin family.
The technologies, manufacturers, and markets we serve have
changed dramatically over the decades. The belief that taking
care of customers builds something lasting has not.
